Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum
The only natural history museum in Singapore, Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM) at the National University of Singapore is the custodian of the city’s natural history. Consisting of 15 unique zones, the main gallery has different sections devoted to the origin of life, including fungi, molluscs, green plants, arthropods, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
Step inside the Dinosaur Zone and be amazed by their collection of three sauropod dinosaur fossils that are more than 80% complete, a rarity for dinosaur fossils. Catch their light and sound show, which happens every 30 minutes and be transported to the Jurassic period where dinosaurs roamed the earth, which will delight adults and children alike!
Bring your kids to the Marine Cycles area to teach them about how life in the marine world is influenced by nature’s rhythm. They’ll be able to learn how the ebb and flow of tide, changes in wind direction, birth and extinction of volcanoes and seasonal changes in the weather all contribute to and affect nutrient availability which in turn shapes the biodiversity of the area.
